ABOUT THE SHOW 2020
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Unfortunately the physical show could not take place according to the global COVID pandemic. Instead a brilliant online edition was realized by Platforms Project artistic director Artemis Potamianou and her team. The physical show is postponed, the team of kunsthallekleinbasel and participant artists are looking forward to travel to Athens in May 2021.
ABOUT PLATFORMS PROJECT NET
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
The objective of Platforms Project is to map artistic action as it is produced in the context of collective initiatives by artists who decide to join forces in seeking answers to artistic questions by creating the so-called platforms. This year we will not get together; but creativity and art does not stop, so we shall meet on the internet. Platforms Project establishes a new approach to art viewing via Platforms Project NET which is a web-based art fair. Platforms Project NET will feature 63 platforms from 23 countries and over 800 artists.

Martin Gut (CH)
Martin Gut (*1976) lives and works as freelance artist in Lucerne, Switzerland. Martin Gut is a Swiss swiss mixed media artist. With every announcement from his studio the audience wonders: “What is he up to this time?”. The consistent personal development trajectory over the 20 years of his artistic work is scarcely marked with some substantive and technical diversions. Among his artworks there are sculptures, threedimensional collages and inventions resorting to technical and intellectual products. In 2019 his works have been exhibited in Hungary at Art Marked Budapest, in Switzerland at Tart Gallery Zurich or in Cuba at Fabrica de Arte Cubano and Revolution Art Space in Havanna.

Rut Himmelsbach (CH)
Rut Himmelsbach (*1950) lives and works in Basel, Switzerland. Her art includes photography, painting, video, installation and objects in installation contexts. In her photographic work she juxtaposes pictures, or she expands them into series in the form of blocks or friezes. In the early eighties Himmelsbach composed associative photo series of television shows, photographic gear, landscape and architecture. Her main work is observation and translation into her pieces of art. Himmelsbachs „wall pieces“ are compositions of different materials - like foam rubber, stone, cloth, glass - including photography and painting. With her works she aims to a kind of universality - even though the content may be of „everyday material“. Her works are in the collections of Bank Bär Zürich, Kunstverein Basel, Kunstkredit Basel-Stadt, Kupferstichkabinett of the Kunstmuseum Basel (28 juxtapositions of drawings by Alex Silber and photographs by Rut Himmelsbach), Kunsthaus Zürich, Embassy of Switzerland in Den Haag, Ricola Collection Switzerland and private collections.

Alex Silber (CH)
Alex Silber (*1950) lives and works in Basel, Switzerland. Silber is an author and performer who has presented installations, pictorial work and publications since 1971. As varied as his activities are drawing, selfportrait-photography and video shaped his work. Long periods spent in Brazil and the USA (1983-92) influenced his working method. Focussing language as it is shared and transformed through different media define his concern (body language / language bodies). Frequently other artists participate in the overall work within the Alex Silber Company.
