At The Others Art Fair Torino 2017 the spaces kunsthallekleinbasel (CH), ARTnSHELTER (JP) and a-space (CH) are pleased to present three artistic positions. Based on theinitiative of kunsthallekleinbasel works by the swiss performance collective IMAGE ON TOUR (Jasmin Glaab, Yvonne Good and Mirjam Spoolder) are presented. TheJapanese initiative ARTnSHELTER displays works by the artist collective REGENERATE (Hanna Fujibayashi, Masaharu Futoyu and Tomoka Yoshinaga). And the artist-run gallery a-space presents works by Megan Rodgers (CH) and hosts the Italian musician Stefano Bruno for an interactive concert. In todays art world collaborations become more and more important. The initiators of the project (Jasmin Glaab from kunsthallekleinbasel, Roy Hofer from a-space gallery and Kohei Kanomata from ARTnSHELTER) took the participation at The Others Fair Torino as an opportunity to try out the collaboration of there gallery spaces, as well as to discuss the collaborative processes underlying diverse of the artworks displayed. The title of the show HOMELY ENVIRONMENT refers to the educative concept of the artist-run initiative kunsthallekleinbasel, which was developed as a collaborative lab in an inhabited apartment, inviting people to feel like at home facilitating the participation of the visitors.

ABOUT THE OTHERS ART FAIR
web: www.theothersfair.com

The Others is the main contemporary art fair in Italy dedicated to valorize the new creative energies. Characterized by an innovative format - use of non-conventional venues, evening opening hours, a program of multidisciplinary events - is a unique exhibition platform: a fair and a curatorial project, a meeting point between art market and cultural innovation.

The 2017 edition is distinguishing itself through a set of novelties aimed at strengthening its identity features: a pioneering model that overcomes the concept of booth to host a series of projects increasingly aiming at research and experimentation.

The Others is connecting art with unconventional venues, which are part of the historical and architectural heritage, addressing Italian and international galleries, independent art spaces, curator collectives and artist-run-spaces invited to developed contextualized and thematic art projects.

More than 45 exhibitors give life to the new edition of the fair between the Main section, the new SPECIFIC section dedicated to create a fully new pathway of site and context specificprojects, and a number of Special Projects purposely conceived for The Others.

A surprising program of art performance, dance, theatre and music, four young exceptional chefs alternating in the gourmet restaurant, a selection of high-quality street food will accompany the artistic offer.
