At YIA Art Fair in Maastricht 2017 kunsthallekleinbasel is pleased to present a curated group show with six female artists: Yvonne Good (CH), Naomi Middelmann (CH), Maya Minder (CH), Mirjam Spoolder (CH), Ana Vujic (CH), Tjefa Wegener (CH). The show is curated by Jasmin Glaab, the founder of kunsthallekleinbasel. Since 2014 the artist-run gallery is located in an inhabited apartment in Basel (Switzerland) and runs self-supporting.

Yvonne Good (CH)Yvonne Good (*1984, Sursee, CH) lives and works in Zürich (CH). After her matriculation she studied Fine Arts from 2007 to 2011 at “F+F Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign” in Zurich. In between she completed a scholarship in Art/Action at HEAD (Haute école d’art et design) in Geneva (CH). Good works especially in the following fields: performance, video and language.

Naomi Middelmann (CH)

Naomi Middelmann is born in Switzerland to German and American parents, with Spanish, Scottish and Russian heritage, Middelmann moved to New York when she was 16. After earning a degree in Creative writing and International Relations from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, she worked in publishing in New York. When she moved back to Switzerland, she first studied stained glass at the Ecole Supérieure de Création et de Vitrail in Monthey and then earned a visual art postgraduate degree from the Visual Art School in Basel in 2009. Middelmann lives and works as freelance artist and teacher in Lausanne (CH).

Maya Minder (CH)
Maya Minder (*1983) is artist and curator. She lives and works in Seoul, Belgrad and Zürich. Minder studied Master of Arts in Fine Arts at Zurich University of the Arts (2013 - 2016) and did a Lizenziat Art History at University of Zurich (2005 - 2012). Since 2012 she is Direktorice of the foundation AMBAR in Bosna i Hercegovina and does organisation of workshops and artist in residency programm since 2013.

Mirjam Spoolder (CH)Mirjam Spoolder, RE-COVER (wearable sculpture with cotton, silk and polyester, 63x75x30cm) 2016

Mirjam Spoolder (born in Nieuw-Heeten NL) lives and works since 2007 as freelance artist in Basel (CH). Spoolder used to study sculpture at AKI Art Academy in Enschede (NL), as well as Stage-Management at RCTH (Rotterdam Centre for Theatre) and art history at LOI (Leidse Onderwijsinstellingen) in Leiden (NL). At FHNW (Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz) in Basel she earned her Master in Fine Arts with the emphasis in Performance Art. 2014/15 she won a studio stipend by Atelier Mondial (previously IAAB) and spend six months in India.

Ana Vujic (CH)
Ana Vujic, WITH A HEART OF STONE (acrylic and ink on wood, 76x140 cm) 2016
Ana Vujic (*1981 in Pozarevac, SRB) lives and works as freelance artist and art critic in Basel (CH). She did studie art history in Basel and works as a teacher in this field (main focus: Urban Art). Sice 2007 she wrights regularly for galleries or newspapers and moderated a radio broadcast about politically motivated street art. Since 2011 she works as freelance artist and exhibits regularly in switzerland and abroad.

Tjefa Wegener (CH)Tjefa Wegener (*1986 in Basel, CH) lives and works as freelance photographer in Basel, Bern and in the Alpes (CH). She studied photography at Ostkreuzschule in Berlin (2008–2011) and did two documentary journeys to Mexico (2010 and 2012). She is specialized in nude and long term documentary photography.
